INNOVATION: everyone wants it, here’s how you do it

Personal Innovation and Leading Innovation

Invent, reinvent, design, redesign, renew, transform, innovate – all of these are about innovating.  But organizations don’t innovate, the people within them do.  What does that mean on a personal level?   And, how do you lead innovation?  There are  many ways to innovate.  Every organization defines it differently and each person has a unique way of doing it.   The question is not, “Are we innovative?” but “How are we innovative?” This workshop can be focused for leaders, teams or individuals.  Participants in this workshop…

  • Examine the various models of organizational innovation
  • Explore the four primary ways in which people lead innovation
  • Agree on the model for innovation that will work for their organization
  • Understand their own strengths in innovation, how they can best innovate and and how to lead innovation.

Strengths-based Leadership and Team Building

We have been using a strengths-based approach to development for more than a decade, employing various assessments and tools to identify individual and team strengths; determine the extent to which the strengths are being  applied; and help individuals, teams and organizations more fully leverage their strengths.

In  the past few years, strengths-based development has become associated  with books and assessments by Rath and Buckingham such as Strengths-finder 2.0, Leading from Strengths and Now Discover your Strengths.

A strengths-based approach to development provides…

  • A common language for individuals to understand each other’s strengths, the team’s strengths and the strengths of the organization as a whole
  • A way to more quickly achieve peak performance particularly in an environment of frequent organizational change
  • A positive approach to personal development, engagement, and leadership

We have several modular workshops that call upon the work of Rath, Buckingham, and our own experience to deliver a strengths-based team or leadership program.  A distinctive aspect of our work is that we show participants how to put their strengths to work immediately.
